It is not surprising that WhatsApp be the most popular messaging app in the world. With its great capacity to store contacts and messages, and its versatility when it comes to sending photos, videos, audios, stickers, among other things, the Meta application consolidates itself each year as one of the most important on mobile devices. However, there are situations in which we want to ignore an annoying contact without having to block them, so there is a trick to avoid this type of problem.
In both the mobile version and the web version of WhatsApp, we can use a secret method of the platform that will help us to ignore a contact without having to block it. This is the Archived Chats feature which, unlike its previous version, is no longer automatically disabled.

Step by step to ignore a contact without blocking it
By archiving the chat of a contact, the other person will be able to see your information, but it will prevent them from writing to you and from paying attention to their messages. To do so, you don’t need to install any app, just follow these steps:
- Within WhatsApp, from the list of chats, we keep pressing on the conversation that we want to hide.
- Several options will appear in the menu on the top bar of the application. We chose the penultimate one: the square icon with an arrow pointing down inside it.
- The conversation will disappear from the list of chats and will be hidden in the Archived folder.
