Since WhatsApp Web came out to the general public, Internet users adapted to a new alternative that allowed them to have their Meta app chats from their PC. Today, WhatsApp has even improved this application and now allows users to access their conversations without the need for their smartphone to be connected to an Internet network, since they now work independently. Although this option facilitates the communication options, it also represents a risk in the privacy of the users.
Although we all assume that this function is personal and it is only us who will link our account, there is a possibility that someone malicious has access to our WhatsApp Web account without consent.
Worse yet, there’s a brief chance that we’ll leave our account open in a place we don’t even remember, further exposing our privacy.

How to know if your WhatsApp conversations were cloned on another mobile device?
- You must first enter WhatsApp.
- Go to Settings and tap “Paired Devices”.
- At that moment, you should check if one of those connected cell phones or laptops belongs to you.
- In case you don’t remember if you logged in to a new device, it’s better to delete it. That way you can block the way to other devices.
- We suggest that you close WhatsApp on all linked devices.
Now again log in your account with WhatsApp Web or other applications so that you are more sure that it is you. Once this is done, it is recommended that you always be aware that only devices that are known to you are linked.
