Before you start, insert the SIM card with the new phone number into your smartphone. Then follow the steps below depending on the device model you have:
From Android:
- Open the application of WhatsApp
- Click on the three-dot icon ⋮ to display the main menu
- Go to the section of Settings
- Accede to Account > Change number > Next
- Write your old number in the first field and your new number in the second field, both in full international format
- touch the button Following and choose which contacts you want to notify about the change
- Press the button okay
- register your new telephone number and follow the instructions on the screen.
From iPhone:
- Enter the application of WhatsApp
- Go to the tab Setting
- click on Account > Change number > Next
