The use of laptops has increased strongly in recent years due to various factors such as the coronavirus pandemic and the undeniable evolution of the hardware in these computers. Now, it is more common to opt for a laptop because they are lighter, more powerful and even have better autonomy. Even so, there are certain practices that are not necessarily known, but that all users of these machines should know, especially to get the most out of them.
Much is said about the power of laptops and how they can now be as powerful as desktop PCs. Many markets take advantage of this development, such as the gaming laptops or those designed for graphic tasks.
Although any common user can opt for some of these alternatives, there is a very common element in these devices that often goes unnoticed. The funny thing is that it turns out to be of great importance for the performance and experience of those who use it.

The battery dilemma
As a general rule, all laptops have an autonomy system based on the battery. What many do not know is that many brands default to a default configuration that prioritizes energy saving over maximum performance of the team.
There are many reasons for this, but the most common is that a laptop fresh from the factory has no reason to be enabled to its full potential, as it will not be of much benefit to anyone. Unfortunately, many users are unaware of this option and never configure the full potential of their equipment.
How to make a laptop faster in just 10 seconds?
To make sure your new laptop is set up to take advantage of its full power, there are just a few steps to follow on any Windows operating system. Here we leave them.
- Right-click anywhere on the taskbar (Windows 11) or the start button (Windows 10)
- Click on the option System
- then go to power and battery
- In section Batterylocate the option power mode and make sure it’s active Better performance (in the dropdown menu).
- Then, as an additional measure, you can click on the magnifying glass icon on the Windows taskbar and type Energy
- Enter the first option that appears: Choose a power plan
- Select the option of High performance in the resulting window
That’s it. Now your computer will be able to run at its full potential as if it were plugged in, but be aware that this will drain your battery faster. Still, if your laptop stands out for its specifications, it doesn’t always make much sense to use it at a mid-level.
