Google is working on automatic tracker detection to Android. It is a function that allows your phone to detect if there is an unrecognized smart tracker near your device for a long time.
This is a process that prevents malicious people from placing smart trackers like Apple AirTags or Tile trackers on unsuspecting people and using them to track their location.
The functionality was discovered by 9to5Google after decompiling the Play Services APK. The code revealed the Unknown Device Alerts line, followed by an Unknown Tag Detection Notification with three smart tag options: Mosaic Tag, Finder Tag, and ATag.

Apple already has this functionality built into iOS, where an AirTag will play a sound if it’s separated from its owner for more than 24 hours. Both Apple and Tile have Android apps that can detect an unauthorized smart tag near your phone, but they require a manual scan and could take up to 10 minutes.
There are still many questions about how this new tool for Android will work, since it is still in the development phase. In this sense, we will have to see in what direction this APK goes and how it will help us in the future.
