Why does Google Chrome consume so much RAM?
This happens because it divides each of the open tabs into its own plugin and extension, which causes it to have many more processes to compute and this is what consumes RAM.
Google Chrome is designed in this way so that the browser does not crash at the time that a plug-in, web page or extension does.

Create a special Google Chrome access to browse faster
So that you can save RAM memory, a widely used option is to create a special shortcut that does not use extensions and that speeds up processes. To perform this trick, you just have to perform the following steps:
- Create a new Google Chrome shortcut.
- Right click and go to Properties.
- In the Destination box, C:Program FilesGoogleChromeApplicationchrome.exe is written.
- In that section, you must click at the end of the URL and press the space bar on your keyboard once, then add the following text “–disable-plugins –process-per-site –disable-extensions”.
- Hit OK.
- This new shortcut will not have browser extensions or plugins activated, so Google Chrome will consume half the RAM.
- To verify, you can enter Task Manager and see how much the new browser consumes.
