If you usually work in a pc or laptop with Windows 11 or Windows 10, you will know firsthand that productivity on a personal computer is very sensitive to the most basic and elementary tools. One of them is the ability to copy and paste text, images, links and other types of formatting from one application to another. Well, now we are going to tell you about an application that stands out among many for its simplicity and compatibility, and that can save you valuable minutes.
Is about Ditto and no, it has almost nothing to do with the pokémon that can transform into other creatures from the well-known Nintendo saga, but its name was probably inspired by that character, due to its flexibility between different formats.
YOU CAN SEE: No more ‘Ctrl+C’ and ‘Ctrl+V’: with this trick you can copy and paste text faster
Ditto is not the only application of clipboard (clipboard) available for Windows and it’s definitely not a very recent one. However, what makes it different from others is that it can work without almost affecting the performance of your PC.
It weighs just 20 MB and has a simple interface that will not replace the classic clipboard functionality already included in Windows 10 or Windows 11. In addition, it is very customizable and you can change all the hotkey accesses to your liking.

How does Dito work?
Ditto installs in a few seconds on your PC and all you have to do to see it in action is to press the keys ctrl and “|” (or accent mark, on English keyboards). This last key can be difficult to find, but by default it will always be located just to the left of the numeral 1 or above Tab.
Pressing this combination will open the Ditto interface where you can access a complete list of all the items you copied recently. This list can be as extensive as you imagine and, as if that were not enough, it is also possible to make a word search of what we have copied in our clipboard.
Other peculiarities of Ditto are:
- It has a multi-device function (to synchronize the clipboard of different computers, useful for work groups)
- Data encryption when using network features
- Access via a Windows tray icon
- Selection of elements with double click, enter key or drag and drop function
- You can paste any element to any window (that supports standard copy and paste input)
- Support for UTF-8 language files
- Full Unicode support
- Displays sample images of the copied items.
