According to Tim Cook, CEO of Apple, the decision not to include chargers or headphones in its new iPhone is due to an initiative in favor of the environment. However, the apple company continued to sell both components separately, even launching a magnetic charger called MagSafe that adheres to the cell phone and allows it to have a few more hours of autonomy.

Apple has made millions
According to estimates by CCS Insight, a portal specialized in technology, since Apple stopped including chargers and headphones in its iPhone, it has obtained more than US $ 6,500 million in profits. To this figure, a 40% reduction in shipping costs must be added, since the packaging of its new phones is smaller and 70% more can be transported for each shipment.
According to the publication, since the end of 2020 (when Apple made its announcement), the company founded by Steve Jobs has managed to sell more than 190 million iPhones worldwide. The huge profit he made must be augmented by another US$300 million, which he earned by selling (as extra accessories) the chargers and headphones that he previously included for free.
It is worth remembering that Apple’s decision generated a lot of division in social networks. On the one hand, it received praise from environmental groups, but also harsh criticism. Other companies, such as Samsung, followed in their footsteps, since their high-end phones no longer include a charger in their box, something that could also reach mid-range and low-end equipment.
