When Manzana launched the iPhone 12, at the end of 2020, made an announcement that caused controversy on social networks. And it is that this cell phone (and all its variants), as well as the equipment that it launches in the future, were going to stop bringing a charger and headphones inside its box. Why am I making this decision? Here we are going to tell you.
At the time, Apple CEO Tim Cook stated that they had made this decision due to a commitment to the environment. The funny thing is that, a few months later, those from Cupertino launched MagSafe, a charger that adheres to the iPhone by magnetism and allows it to have more battery hours.

A report by CCS Insight reveals that the company founded by Steve Jobs, since it stopped including these accessories, has obtained more than US $ 6,500 million in profits. Not to mention that shipping costs have been reduced, due to the new iPhone packaging is thinner.
Brazilian sued Apple
As detailed by O Globo, one of the most important newspapers in Brazil, a user had started legal action against those from Cupertino, because her iPhone 12 did not come with a charger or headphones. The judge who heard the case stated that Apple had engaged in “abusive and illegal” practices.
Not only that, since it also determined that the company directed by Tim Cook has to pay compensation to the woman for about 5,000 reais (about US $ 1,100).

“The statement that Apple seeks to reduce the environmental impact does not make sense, since it continues to manufacture such an essential accessory, only now it sells it separately,” the judge ruled.
So far, the directors of the apple have not commented on this ruling that occurred in Brazil, which could become a precedent so that other Apple users, who are not happy with their product, can request financial compensation from the American company.
