the chamber of iPhone’s, and of all Apple devices in general, is one of the best on the market. Although they have a resolution of 12 megapixels, which compared to some other devices is at a certain disadvantage, the operating system (iOS) manages to correctly optimize the quality of portraits to get the most out of the photos. Even so, many users are unaware of the true power of these devices and only limit themselves to taking photos without knowing what their maximum capacity is.
That is why, in La República, we have prepared this note where we will explain how to improve photos from Apple devices, particularly on iPhones.
The best thing is that you will not need to download any third-party application or make any additional payment.

RAW or HEIC depending on the amount of light:
The first thing on the list is to change the format in the version RAW or HEIC. With this option, you will be able to have all the information of your photographs and the option to edit them, because this format houses a greater amount of data for each image.
The recommendation is to use RAW when there is a lot of ambient light and HEIC when there is little. The results may surprise us. Of course, you should know that this format occupies more weight in your memory.
photographic styles
Another very interesting resource is to use the photographic styles that came with the iPhone 13. Thanks to this, we can choose a ‘theme’ for the photos that we are going to take. The plus of this is that skin tones and other elements of the photo are respected. Here we can choose between Intense Contrast, Bright, Warm or Cold, and can also modify the tone and warmth to our liking. It should be noted that this photographic style will remain until we manually deactivate it.
Lock exposure and focus
Last but not least is the trick of setting the exposure and focus. To achieve this, all we have to do is touch somewhere on the screen for about three seconds to lock both the focus and the lighting.
Next, we can slide up and down to adjust the exposure manually. Likewise, the focus will also be locked, so we can get closer to or further away from the subject to create an extra bokeh effect that the photos would already have by themselves.
