The first iPhone that Steve Jobs launched in 2007 marked a before and after, since it offered features that, at that time, were very innovative, such as having a large touch screen, the possibility of accessing the internet, listening to music, etc. However, what few know is that this design was not the first that the Apple cell phone was going to have, there was one that looked quite similar to another apple product.
As detailed by Applesfera, one of the first prototypes of the iPhone has just been revealed, which has the appearance of an iPod, one of the most emblematic products of the apple. Although it had a rather original design (which the then founder of Apple liked), the device was discarded. Here we tell you his story.

According to the publication, Steve Jobs had thought that the first iPhone would be a kind of improved iPod that could make calls, because the player developed by those from Cupertino had become its flagship product. For this reason, the prototype had a numeric keypad on the back.
“Steve Jobs pushed us a lot to make the iPod plus Phone work. We worked for weeks and weeks to figure out how to manage the inputs with the click wheel. We couldn’t do it, and after the whole team was convinced we couldn’t do it, he said ‘keep trying!’ At some point we all said: ‘no, it’s not going to work’, said Tony Fadell, an Apple engineer known as the ‘father of the iPod’.
As you can see in the image, the discarded prototype of the iPhone had very similar colors to the first phone that Apple presented. The front part was made up of a small screen and the iconic click wheel, the iPod wheel that allowed you to control the device.
